AIA/SCS 2026 is right around the corner, and we’re excited to share what FGLIF has planned for San Francisco this January. Whether you’re early in your career, attending your first major conference, or returning for another year, we’ve put together a mix of opportunities to connect, learn, ask questions, decompress, and get involved.
Below is our full schedule of events — all are open to anyone interested in participating.

Kick off the conference with good company, good conversation, and a relaxed space to unwind. Bring a friend, or come solo and meet new ones!

UC Press FirstGen Info Session
Friday, January 9 at 4:30 pm
Exhibitor Hall – UC Press Booth
A great opportunity for early-career scholars exploring book publishing. UC Press will introduce their FirstGen Program, which offers:
- grants for first-generation authors,
- workshops that demystify scholarly book publishing,
- online publishing resources, and
- opportunities for connection and professional development.
If you’ve ever wondered how to begin thinking about a book project, this is an easy, low-pressure way to learn more.
We hope you’ll stop by our events throughout the conference, join the conversations, and share these opportunities with others who might find them helpful.
We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco!
